**PLEASE READ ME**
This is my life. This is part of who I am, and even though it isn’t glamorous or beautiful, it is me. In my prose, I mention the “spirit of depression”. This is a concept that I first encountered in Terence Ward’s book Empty Cauldrons. I am still on the fence about categorizing my depression as a spirit, but through conversation with friends, I have come to understand how it can be helpful in ‘othering’ the Depression I live with. This is not necessarily an occult concept, nor do I believe that mental illness is caused by an actual spirit. I also understand the way I speak about my depression here is not going to ring true for everyone else and I respect that. Please respect my thoughts as well.
