Witches Against AI
The rise of generative AI has taken the witchcraft and pagan online space by storm. With a few words and the click of a button, AI language models can write paragraphs, blog posts, and entire books. Though these words may come from a computer, they are actually stolen from people all over the world. The same is true for AI image generators - because I refuse to call it art - stealing the artwork of hundreds of thousands of artists to train these computers to create images.
Now, I'm not an expert on how these generative AI models work, nor am I an expert on how they affect the world around us. There are other people out there who have done a wonderful job explaining just how bad AI is for the people and the planet. You can find some of those articles and sources down at the bottom of this page. I am, however, an expert in my own content and consider myself at least knowledgeable on the wider witchcraft and pagan community.
We don't need AI-generated books, articles, websites, podcasts, products, and whatever else they decide to create. These are a detriment to our community for multiple reasons:
This is my pledge to you that I will never use generative AI to create blog posts, courses, images, books, and anything else here at 'Round the Cauldron. Everything you see, hear, and read at 'Round the Cauldron is created by me for you.
Say no to generative AI. Say no to theft. Say no to computers replacing the artists in our community.
