I may be a bit cynical about greenwashing, eco-friendly marketing, and how corporations deal with Earth Day. It’s the one day out of the year where everyone pretends to care about the planet, the one day where people pledge to use less single-use plastics, where people pledge to reduce their carbon footprint, and where companies … Read more
Our lives in this century are so busy. We have work. We have children. We have parents or people to take care of. We plan elaborate (or simple) rituals and spells, but then life happens and our plans get thrown to the wayside. We have to learn to adapt and change when those wrenches get … Read more
There’s a video that’s making its way around TikTok right now that’s irritating me so of course, I’m going to talk about it. I’m not going to link the video or the reactions to it because if I’m being honest, it’s the reactions that are irritating me. I haven’t seen the original video in its … Read more
Being confronted with ego in witchcraft is interesting and you know what? The idea for me to talk about this actually comes from one of the first exercises in the first chapter of The Witch’s Path by Thorn Mooney. She talks about how when we are in our practice or we’ve been doing it for a while, we kind of get in a groove. Today we’re going to talk about what’s in my Grimoire and how I view magical books in general. As always, topics like this are very personal and so what I say isn’t going to be the same as everyone else. Journaling is a staple in my everyday life. It wasn’t always like that but over the years I have come to realize the many benefits journaling has to offer. These benefits go beyond just helping you remember your day or keeping your thoughts straight. I wanted to share them with you because lately, journaling has taken up a large significance in my life.
A blue moon is not actually a blue moon. The moon doesn’t turn blue — even though that would pretty neat for a blue moon — but there are two different definitions for the term “blue moon”. The older definition says that a blue moon refers to the third full moon in a season with four full moons. It has something to do with correcting the lunar cycle and making sure that when people were planting and growing their crops by the moon calendar, that seasons didn’t “come too early”.
