Judgment is not always wanted, but it is a fact that we will all be judged at least once in our lifetime.
Judgment – Description
So, the most prominent symbol in this card, first off, is the fact that you have all of these people rising out of graves and they are completely naked. This signifies that these people that are rising from their graves are rising up, ready to meet their judgment, and they are completely vulnerable, open, and exposed. Then you also have the angel that’s in the sky with a trumpet. This character in the card symbolizes the messenger of God calling forth these people for their judgment. And then lastly, the prominent mountain range in the background represents the obstacles and the inability for someone to avoid their judgment completely.
Judgment – Upright
Judgment – Rebirth – The Calling
So, in the upright position, the Judgment card symbolizes judgment, rebirth, and the calling. When this card shows up in your reading in the upright position, it is a symbol to you that you may be experiencing some sort of spiritual awakening. You are being called forth to better yourself and face your judgment and the things that you may have done in the past that you’re not proud of. This is to better yourself and become the best version of yourself.
It can also be a sign to you that you’re at a crossroads. The decision that you need to make to either better yourself or for some sort of very important decision will require you to use your logic, but also your intuition. It is a marriage of those two parts of yourself. And then lastly, in the upright position, the judgment card can be here to tell you that you would benefit from reaching out to other people who have been in your position or similar to get their advice and listen to what they have to say before you make your decision.
Judgment – Reversed
Self-Doubt – Ignoring the Calling – Inner Critic
Now, in the reversed position, Judgment really symbolizes self-doubt, ignoring the calling, and inner critic. So, when Judgment shows up in your reading, in the reversed position, it’s a sign to you that you are ignoring what your gut is telling you. You are ignoring that calling to become a better person or do good for your highest good. Maybe your doubt is getting in the way and that’s what’s really stopping you. Judgment in the reverse position really gives meaning to that phrase that you are your own worst critic.
When Judgment shows up in your reading in the reversed position, you might need to take a step back and realize that you might be too hard on yourself right now. Whatever situation you’re in, you need to give yourself a break. Judgment in the reversed position is here to tell you that you need to push past your inner critic and push past that doubt. This will help you grow as a person and become the best version of yourself and answer the calling of your highest good.
