Upcycling Candles

I don’t know about you, but I enjoy a good tealight candle. However, they’re very limited in their scents and colors. So, what’s a witch to do? Upcycle them, of course! This tutorial came about because my Nana was here visiting and made mention while we were in the store that she wanted some scented tealight candles, but she didn’t want to pay $10 for four candles. That’s fine! I offered to make her some since I have a BUNCH of tealights (I typically buy them in bulk…because witchiness…)

When Following Your Heart is Hard

I’ve been conflicted over a decision that needs to be made in my personal life for a while now. For some background, I don’t like working a day-job. It takes away from what I’m passionate about, but it pays the bills. I needed some more insight into my thought process today because it is very muddled together between my head and my heart.

Color Correspondences – Tradition or Emotion?

If you’re not new to Wicca or witchcraft, you’ll know that there are a slew of correspondence lists out there on the internet for different aspects of magick. One of those things is color correspondences. Just a quick search will give you hundreds of tables from many different sources that tell you what each color corresponds with.

Energy Work How-To

One thing that you’ll hear witches mention a lot is the need for energy work. So, what is energy work in witchcraft? Well, its exactly as it sounds: using and manipulating energy around you to achieve a specific result. It can take a lot of practice, but its something that is doable. There are a few things that I think you should know first. Those include how to ground yourself, center yourself, and read the energy.

Self Hatred is Poisoning Us All

Self love and self confidence is a long and often hard road full of shadow work, fear, and stress. The unknown is a scary thing, and in today’s world we are bombarded with words and imagery that make us question our self love. We are taught to hate ourselves, because hate is fuel for the fire of capitalism. If we didn’t hate our bodies, cosmetic surgery wouldn’t be necessary. If we didn’t hate our waist size then diet fads, waist trainers, diet pills, and all those other products that are sold to us to make us love ourselves wouldn’t be necessary.

5 Tips for the Empath

An empath is a person who can sense, feel, and even experience the moods, emotions, and energies of those around them. For the inexperienced empath, these might seem like random unprovoked mood swings (in those without a mental illness in which these are a symptom) or gut feelings that you can’t explain. It can be hard to deal with, so I’ve put together this short list of tips and tricks to help any empath, newly realized or not.

Tarot on a Whim

I’ve always got several ideas popping around in my mind for my website, business, and podcast. My problem is that my day job takes a lot out of me sometimes, as well as raising a child to be happy and healthy, and sometimes I have no energy to work on the things I want to do.

Wicca and Mental Health

I’m going to be candid with you. I have a mental illness. Actually, I’ve got several. I’m diagnosed with major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD, and show symptoms of OCD. All according to psychiatrists and therapists that I’ve seen over the years. I actually have another appointment soon to be seen again because things are becoming hard. Again.
